promotion ceremony and activities even though all promotion requirements were met. |
|
Junior High School Retention |
Junior high students who are not meeting grade level standards and expected learning achievement benchmarks are at risk of not being promoted. Retention, remaining at the same grade level for a second year, is an action to assist these students in remediating learning deficiencies and in meeting promotion requirements. All students are required to have a total grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher. Other factors considered include credits completed, courses required, student attendance, literacy standards, and assessment results. |
